Do I need to book an appointment to try on wedding dresses? And, why?

At Emerald Bridal, yes: fittings are by appointment, with a private room and dedicated stylist. Request your preferred date and time and our team will confirm availability. Weekday bridal fittings are free; a $30 non-refundable booking fee applies on weekends.

Before you request your fitting

  • Share your wedding date so the team can discuss the buying routes that may suit your timing.
  • Give your working budget and say whether it includes alteration work and accessories.
  • Send the gown names or styles you want to try, rather than relying on a saved photograph alone.
  • Tell us your usual dress size so we can check sample availability. A designer’s orderable size range is different from the gowns available to try.

What to bring

Bring nude underwear, a strapless bra if you plan to wear one, and shoes or accessories you want to compare with gowns. You can bring up to four guests. A smaller group can help you focus on your own preferences; confirm any practical needs before the visit.

What to check during the fitting

Compare how the gown feels when you stand, walk and sit. Ask about the support built into the actual bodice and which fit changes would need assessment. Clips can help show a sample’s shape; they are not a final fit or proof that every change is possible.

Sample or new order?

Ask whether the gown is an existing sample for sale or a style you would order. Confirm the price, sample condition or order details, delivery or collection estimate, and separate alteration arrangements before deciding. A first fitting is a chance to compare your options.
